The NFV Common Calendar is a streamlined community calendar for the North Fork Valley. Users access it with a google-compatible account. Enriching events around the valley are published here and updated all the time. It syncs with the Google Calendar of roughly 100 neighbors and community members and growing.
A toolkit for active citizenship focusing on efficiency and efficacy. Actively Democratic has petitions and resources including contact points and talking points along side pertinent news stories and links to change-making organizations. Bookmark, visit, revisit, and use it!
There's a community garden downtown in Paonia, a venue for lots of great classes and an open source of food and beauty- with public accessible compost bins!
I envision compost being collectivized among neighbors in micro hubs. Learn more and help it start!
I am also wanting to pick up a program that hasn't quite launched yet, the "Paonia Garden Cooperative" - which fosters land / work exchanges & productive parties.
NORTH FORK CITIZENS ALLIANCE
The Citizens Alliance is a grassroots effort to streamline all of our important organizations and campaigns fighting for our valley into one place. Website and group are under development. We are a grass roots advocacy, education, rights, and well-being group with a vision to help us help ourselves on a lot of levels, persistently, to protect and to savor the really wonderful elements of our valley.
